With work already underway to revive several dozen first-series Land Rovers, Jaguar Land Rover's resourceful business developers have already moved on to the next vehicle waiting for a revival, the Range Rover.
The first example on display at the Rétromobile in Paris (February 8 to 12, 2017) is a completely rebuilt example from 1978. The car is equipped with the standard 3.5-liter V8 engine of the time, which produces 132 hp at 5000 rpm with Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. The power is transmitted to both axles via a four-speed gearbox.
After the factory restoration as part of the "Range Rover Reborn" program, the two-door "Classic" presents itself in the original "Bahama Gold" color and as it came out of the factory.
The pleasure doesn't come cheap, with prices for a (once again) new Range Rover Classic starting at £135,000. However, Land Rover firmly believes that the classic Range is a car with future potential and that it has a loyal fan base that is prepared to dig a little deeper into their wallets.
In addition to the reborn Range Rover, the reborn Jaguar XKSS and a fully restored 1962 Jaguar E-Type will also be on display in Paris.
