On Saturday, September 6, 2014, the weekend after next, classic cars and classic motorcycles will once again meet on the grounds of Emil Frey AG in Safenwil for the 23rd Oldtimer Grand Prix Safenwil.
The historic vehicles and motorcycles will roar around the bends on the secured track and elicit enthusiastic cheers from the spectators! The JDCS (Jaguar Drivers' Club Switzerland) and the Riley Club Switzerland will be welcomed as guest clubs in 2014.
Who doesn't know the Ford Capri, the sportily styled coupé that is affordable even for those on a tight budget and powered by reliable everyday technology. This legendary Ford model was built in countless versions and remained in production from 1968 to 1986 with well over 1 million units built. A selection of these will be on display on the circuit at the 23rd GP Safenwil.
Around 15 Alfa Romeo models will also be on display. The oldest car on display is the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Freccia d'Oro, once the personal car of former AR Editor-in-Chief Robert Braunschweig. This car is still owned by the family. An Alfa Romeo 1900 C Sprint leads over to somewhat younger models, with an Alfasud ti (1st series) from 1978 bringing up the rear.
Of course, food and drink will also be provided in the various "GP Beizli"! As usual, admission is free of charge! Owners of automobiles and motorcycles built in 1960 or earlier are cordially invited to take part in the 23rd Oldtimer Grand Prix. Participation is free of charge.
