With the ninth generation built in Neckarsulm, Audi continues the success story of the C model series: the Audi 100 marked the rise of the brand with the four rings into the upper mid-size class in 1968. The Audi 100 (C1-C4) won the "Golden Steering Wheel" five times, was named "Car of the Year" twice and "World Car of the Year" once.
A total of 3.2 million Audi 100s sold underline the success and popularity of the model series. The generations following the C1 demonstrated "Vorsprung durch Technik" with numerous innovations - such as the fully galvanized body, optimized aerodynamics and highly efficient engines. The performance of the new A6 models is increased by the mild hybrid technology MHEV plus and CO2 emissions are reduced. The air suspension and all-wheel steering also ensure a high level of driving comfort.
The Audi 100 has been called the Audi A6 since 1994. Since 1968, Audi has built almost ten million models (9,836,762, as of April 2025) of the C model series. Big numbers from a long history. However, the enthusiasm and passion for the C-series goes much deeper - including within the Audi workforce. For a very special family photo, eight employees with a C model of every generation - from C1 to C8 - came to the Audi piazza in Ingolstadt in front of the museum mobile and welcomed the new C9 Audi A6 Avant.
The Audi A6 Avant has been available in dealerships across Europe since May 16, and the A6 sedan will be launched at the end of July.
