The indestructible little off-road vehicle from Steyr, the Haflinger, is already 60 years old. A good reason to celebrate this exceptional little talent with a special exhibition at the Classic-Expo Salzburg from October 18 to 20, 2019.
Special exhibition for the Haflinger
As part of the special exhibition "60 years of the Haflinger", some of the most interesting original vehicles are presented on approx. 150m² and a lot of interesting facts are also told. The Steyr-Puch 700 AP and 703 AP Haflinger was Austria's first fully independent automobile design in the Second Republic. The all-wheel drive vehicle was equipped with the same top-class boxer engine that the "Puch-Wimmerl", the Steyr-Puch 500, had received two years before the Hafi appearance.
The Steyr Puch Haflinger is a compact and lightweight vehicle. It was designed completely differently from the American Jeep, which was considered the benchmark for off-roaders in this weight class at the time. To this day, there is no comparable automobile that offers so many possible uses in a single basic form and requires so little material. In any case, it is an exciting automotive history that awaits visitors to the Classic Expo.
