From Thursday, January 16 to Sunday, January 19, 2025, the MECC Maastricht will become the international meeting place for fans of classic cars, youngtimers and supercars for the 30th edition. InterClassics is celebrating its 30th anniversary together with its fans.
The organizers are inviting visitors to vote for their favourite cars from 30 years of InterClassics Maastricht. In two rounds of voting, visitors can choose from more than 100 exclusive classic and super sports cars. This vote will also determine the car on the poster, which will be photographed in a Maastricht setting especially for this edition. On the exhibition floor, the motto comes to life through the presentation of the most beautiful reasons for the various cars.
The popular sales fair for "collector's cars" has always been held under a theme since 2003, including dozens of great themes such as: "70 years of Ferrari", "125 years of Mercedes-Benz", "Dutch Grand Prix Classics" and many others. Two rounds of voting give you the opportunity to determine the selection of cars from all previous themes.
Among the special cars in the first round of voting are the Jaguar D-Type and the Alfa Romeo T33/TT/3, in which Jacky Ickx won the Le Mans race. Lovers of modern cars will also be catered for: the hyper-exclusive Aston Martin Victor and the Bugatti Chiron, among others, are on the shortlist. The second round of voting will follow a month later. The car on the poster will also be determined on the basis of the two voting rounds. It shows the (still covered) car on the striking Vrijthof square in Maastricht. The final poster with the winning car will be published after the summer vacation.
Exhibition manager Erik Panis explains the theme:
"We owe the success of 30 years of InterClassics Maastricht to the visitors. This theme was chosen in particular to emphasize the connection with our supporters. We ourselves see it as a thank you to them and hope that we don't make it easy for them to choose from all these beauties. A kind of Top 2000 of classic cars!"
The story makes the car
The fact that a car is more than the number of its individual parts is nothing new for InterClassics visitors. That's why the organizers are curious about the stories behind the cars. When casting their votes, visitors are asked which car has left a lasting impression on them and, above all, why? InterClassics is looking for the best anecdotes, memories and stories about that one, very special car. The best stories will be presented as part of the "30 years of InterClassics Maastricht" exhibition. In addition, the best entries have the chance to win free tickets, guided tours and the main prize: An invitation to the InterClassics Preview Night! This is a Michelin-starred dinner on the eve (January 15, 2025) of InterClassics amidst the cars of the themed exhibition!
Free choice: dream car
According to InterClassics, an anniversary is not just about looking back. The world of classic and super sports cars is by no means standing still. That's why InterClassics offers everyone the chance to submit their ultimate dream car. Classic, modern, whisper-quiet or deafening: anything is possible. InterClassics will draw on its network of renowned museums and international (private) collections to present the three most sought-after cars in Maastricht. In this way, the organization will present an unprecedented line-up.
