The next Tour Auto Optic 2000 is coming up and this time there's something to celebrate: the event from April 18-24, 2016 is an anniversary event. Accordingly, a new route has been specially planned, ending for the first time with a night race on well-known rally roads in the countryside above the Côte d'Azur.
As every year, classics such as the Ferari 250 GT Berlinetta, the Jaguar MK II 3.8 L, the Linier JS2 and the Matura MS 650, which made the tour legendary, will be at the start in 2016 and will also have a place of honor on the start list this year.
On the trail of France's cultural heritage
Following tradition, the Tour Auto Optic 2000 2016 will begin on Monday, April 18 with a major presentation at the Grand Palais in Paris. The next day (Tuesday, April 19), the competitions will begin a journey from the French capital through the streets of France, providing ample opportunity to discover the country's cultural heritage.
A finale under a starry sky
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Tour in style, Peter Auto has organized a night run in addition to the traditional program. For the riders who reach the final stage finish on Saturday afternoon, this means a few hours' sleep before they set off on the final stage under the stars in the early morning. And after crossing the finish line, the big celebration to mark the 25th anniversary of the Tour Auto Optic 2000 will begin.
