History:
When the Porsche 911 (initially the 901) was presented at the IAA in Frankfurt on September 12, 1963, it quickly became clear that this comfortable sports car would be a success. By 1973, a total of 81,032 Porsche 911s, also known as the Ur-Porsche and F-model, had been built. In 1969, the Porsche 911E was the first in the history of the sports car manufacturer to use intake manifold injection to optimize performance and fuel consumption. The 140 hp now available made the Porsche 911E around 215 km/h fast and allowed it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 9 seconds. This example is the 294th 1973 model with an injection engine to be produced. In 2014 and 2015, this 911 was restored for its Swiss customer and then technically prepared by Goodtimer for the veteran's inspection.
Bodywork and paintwork:
The bodywork is in immaculate condition and presents itself to a high standard of restoration. The paintwork in the original color anthracite metallic 643 is as good as new.
Interior:
The interior of this example has been completely renewed in genuine leather. The seats are freshly upholstered and fitted with seat belts - both front and rear. The full instrumentation is supplemented with the matching Classic DAB radio. The original Porsche 4-spoke steering wheel with wooden rim adds a classy touch to the sporty interior.
Engine and mechanics:
The 140PS fuel-injected engine was overhauled by Porsche CPR Fallbrook during the restoration and a new clutch and exhaust system were fitted. The compression and exhaust values are flawless.
Chassis:
Chassis and brakes were part of the restoration and show perfect values on the test bench. The underbody is undamaged, the rear seat shells were replaced during the restoration.
Driving experience:
The Porsche 911 is a genuine sports car that you can also take for a drive with your children. The astonishing safety of this over 50-year-old sports car is proof of the early expertise of the Porsche forge. The 911 is extremely directionally stable and is also easy and relaxed to drive.
Recommendation:
The Porsche 911 is regarded as the style icon of sports car construction. Never before has a sports car with the same concept and the same charisma been produced for more than 50 years. This makes such a vehicle as valuable and safe as gold.
