RM/Sotheby's Paris 2021 auction - a winged Isdera outshone everyone
Summary
Despite the postponed Rétromobile, RM/Sotheby's held on to the Paris auction, but organized it a week later on 13 February 2021. 40 cars worth almost EUR 18 million went under the hammer live, but without an audience. Compared to the previous year, this was only half as many cars. 58% were sold, which was also a less pleasing result than in 2020. The high-flyer was the Isdera Commendatore, which fetched around twice as much as had been expected. However, the most expensive car was a Lamborghini Miura P400 SV. This auction article analyzes the results and shows all the vehicles in pictures.

A year ago, the RM/Sotheby's auction in Paris took place in February 2020 in the usual setting of the Rétromobile in front of a large audience. A year later, due to the continuing dominance of the coronavirus pandemic, not only did the Rétromobile have to be postponed, but the RM/Sotheby's auction also had to be held in a different format. Nevertheless, it still took place live on February 13, 2021, albeit without an audience as a live auction. And instead of the 78 cars from 2020, the bidders had to settle for 40, which at 35 years old were also significantly younger (2020: 47 years old) than in the previous year.
