It was not a collection with the renown of the Baillon Collection that was auctioned on November 10, 2016; brands such as Bugatti, Talbot or Ferrari were missing. But it was a highly interesting collection of more or less rare classics, which were sold by Osenat in predominantly desolate condition. And at surprisingly high prices. Gérard Gombert was a passionate collector, but also a maverick who took great pleasure and dedication in putting car after car in his garden. He obviously had a penchant for plastic sports cars, as these made up a substantial proportion of the more than 100 vehicles in his "collection", mainly Alpine, but also a few Lotus and two Matra Bagheera. He preferred vehicles from the sixties and seventies.
