It was a busy weekend. Many events were vying for participants and visitors. Nevertheless, the auction room at the Oldtimer Galerie in Toffen filled up quickly when it came to selling 60 vintage and classic cars (and a few used cars too). Of course, the "No Limit" mode was particularly tempting for people hoping to get their dream classic at a bargain price. "No Limit" means nothing more and nothing less than that the cars would find a new owner regardless of the amount of the offer reached. Cheap on average If you simply take the estimated prices provided by the organizer as a guide, the buyers got their "new" car at a reasonable price. The average hammer price was around 80% of the lower estimated price, a good 60% if you take the mean value of the estimated price range. The buyer had to fork out CHF 10,553 or EUR 8,680 (before surcharges) to settle the purchase price. Considering that vehicles from the luxury brands Bentley, Rolls Royce, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz were on offer, one or two people would certainly have to ask themselves whether they should not have traveled to Toffen last Saturday and bid.
