MVS 1986-1990 - the work of enthusiasts
Summary
There were around 10,000 car brands and designers - most of them have disappeared. The Manufacture de Voitures de Sport (MVS) is one of these lost brands. Founded by four enthusiasts in 1985, series production of the first model began in 1987. MVS was renamed Venturi in 1990 and after financial problems, Venturi ended up being owned by an electric eco-brand.

The Manufacture de Voitures de Sport(MVS) was founded in 1985 by four enthusiasts. Their sports coupé was designed by Claude Poiraud, a former employee of Alpine and Heuliez. The prototype was created in the workshops of racing car designer Jean Rondeau in Le Mans, and its premiere took place at the Paris Motor Show in 1984. In May 1987, series production began in a newly built plant in Cholet, to the east of Nantes. Two investment companies were secured for the financing. With the MVS Venturi, France once again had an individual sports coupé of a higher standard. It was based on a tubular frame chassis with McPherson struts and represented an alternative to the Renault Alpine. Like the latter, it had the PRV V6 turbo engine (Peugeot/Renault/Volvo) built in northern France. In the MVS, however, it was installed as a mid-engine.
