As every year, Artcurial auctioned 115 cars with a total estimated value of EUR 28.5 million or CHF 30.7 million at the Le Mans Classic on July 9, 2016. However, the public proved to be more reserved than expected and the expensive cars in particular failed to sell, while there were some surprises among the more affordable items. As every year, Artcurial auctioned a number of cars at the Le Mans Classic on July 9, 2016, this time 115 in total. The total value was estimated at EUR 28.5 million or CHF 30.7 million, which would have amounted to approximately EUR 247,500 or CHF 270,000 per vehicle. However, the public proved to be more reserved than expected and the expensive cars in particular failed to sell, while there were some surprises among the more affordable items. 42 brands were spread across the 115 cars. Only Ferrari (with 18 vehicles) and Porsche (with 17) made up double-digit contingents, followed by seven Lancia and six Mercedes-Benz.
