RM/Sotheby's put 59 vehicles worth around EUR 97 million under the hammer on April 25, 2026 on the occasion of the 15th Grand Prix de Monaco Historique together with some memorabilia. The well-attended auction was a success, with 86% of the vehicles selling for an average of EUR 1.7 million. On average, the highest bids were close to expectations at 95% of the estimated value, although the deviations at lot level were significantly greater. EUR 200,000 to 300,000 was expected for the Lotus Esprit S1, which caused a sensation as the submarine in the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me". In the end, however, the film prop was bid up to EUR 710,000, bringing the purchase price including bidder's premium to EUR 852,000 (CHF 783,840), around three times the estimate.
