From March 11 to 21, 1965, the 35th Geneva Motor Show welcomed over 425,000 visitors who came to the manufacturer-neutral Swiss car market to find out about new products and offerings from the major suppliers of 78 vehicle brands. In addition to a comprehensive description, this report shows world firsts, improved vehicles and many details and impressions of the 1965 Geneva Motor Show in 150 photos, some of which have never been shown before.

The 35th Geneva Motor Show took place from March 11 to 21, 1965. The exhibition poster featured a stylized road, but in contrast to previous Salons, the expansion of the Swiss national and main road network was in full swing. In any case, the President of the Swiss Confederation, Dr. Hans Peter Tschudi, said that Switzerland was investing more money per capita in road expansion than any other European country. One of the reasons for this was the expensive construction of tunnels. However, Tschudi also raised a warning finger and pointed out the steadily increasing environmental pollution caused by the onset of mass mobilization.
