On the occasion of the Classic Expo Salzburg, an auction was also held by the Dorotheum auction company on October 17, 2015. 39 cars were offered alongside some automobilia, the total value of the vehicles consigned was estimated at around 4 million euros, with each car lot expected to fetch around 106,000 euros. These figures were only just missed with a total result of Euro 3.9 million (CHF 4.2 million) and Euro 105,438 (CHF 113,873). Just two cars could not be knocked down. The star of the Dorotheum auction was the Shelby Cobra 289 Mk 1 from 1963, an early example and, according to the offer, the first in "Guardsman Blue", a color that clearly suits CSX2104 perfectly. Fully documented since day one, this Cobra has only 9,674 miles on the clock. An estimated price of Euro 950,000 to 1.2 million was set for the largely original sports car.
