On the occasion of the Techno Classica in Essen, Coys held its traditional auction of almost 70 vehicles. A total of 39 vehicles were sold, with total sales amounting to over eight million euros. The most expensive car at the auction was a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL with gullwing doors from 1955, which fetched 904,500 euros or CHF 1,121,057, closely followed by a surprisingly valuable Porsche 959 from 1988, which was worth 904,500 euros or CHF 913,635 to its new owner. A BMW 328 Roadster from 1938 also sold for over half a million. A Maserati Ghibli 4.9 SS Spyder from 1971 found its way into a new garage at a surprisingly low price, with the buyer paying 319,652 euros.
