Bonhams Bond Street Auction 2016 - Brits partly cautious, partly generous when Christmas shopping
Summary
Bonhams offered 27 exquisite classics at the now traditional auction at its headquarters on Bond Street in London, rarities whose years of manufacture spanned ten decades. 63% were sold, with the most expensive being, surprisingly, an Aston Martin V8 Volante. There were some surprises, but also some disappointments. This auction report analyzes the results and shows the auctioned vehicles in pictures.

For several years now, Bonhams' "Bond Street Sale" has been one of the auctions that offer another chance late in the year to buy a classic car for the coming year. The motto is small but mighty, as the space at Bond Street would certainly be too small for a 100+ car auction. On December 4, 2016, it was that time again. A good opportunity for "Chrismas shopping", said James Knight, who, as always, held the hammer in his hand. It was indeed a manageable number of vehicles that Bonhams offered at its headquarters in London, 27 cars were on hand, one Aston Martin DB5 was withdrawn at short notice (and will be offered again at the Aston Martin auction in spring).
