The Practical Classic Restoration Show at the NEC Birmingham provided the setting for an auction of 84 automobiles by Silverstone Auctions on April 12, 2014 (two other vehicles had already been withdrawn before the auction, one had already been sold previously). In keeping with the motto of the event, there were many restoration objects, barn finds and almost-spare parts donors up for auction. 69 of the lots were sold with no ifs and buts, and renegotiations are underway for some others. Some of the prices were significantly higher than expected. Two Aston Martin DBS were waiting for new owners. Lot 148 was a hand-switched Vantage version that had been estimated as a restoration base for £ 20,000 to £ 25,000. The highest bidder, however, was prepared to pay £ 51,175 (Euro 62,434 or CHF 75,739).
