Not so long ago, there was only one competitor for the sporty compact saloons with the BMW emblem: Alfa Romeo. The Italian brand based in Milan cooked its own soup according to the same recipe as the Bavarian brand in Munich: Their automobiles did not boast superfluous dimensions, they were potent motorized and had road holding for fast driving. There are now a whole host of manufacturers doing the same, and the battle for market share is fiercer than ever. Ford has also entered the business of luxury sports cars. In the meantime even in such a way that all previous attempts by the Cologne-based company can be dismissed as amateurish: with the Sierra XR4i.
