Summary
The days of simply built cars are long gone; modern vehicles may be safer and faster, but they are also significantly heavier, more complex and less approachable. Does the joy of driving increase when you can reach speeds of 300 km/h but have hardly any control over the technology? The buddies Exbert and Albert are not so sure and so nightmares, thoughts in the shower and in the beach bar finally lead to a call for renunciation.

More is not always better. This is not a new thought for the technology enthusiast Exbert, but his buddy Albert seems to think along similar lines. Exbert: I had a bad dream yesterday. Must have been the heat. I was driving on the highwaysomewhere in eastern Germany. I wanted to get to Görlitz, on the Oder-Neisse cycle path. A heavy SUV came speeding along... Albert: When did you start cycling? E: Oh, you don't even know that yet. I now have a trailer coupling on my Morgan ... A: Trailer coupling? On the Morgan?! On your fifty-year-old Plus 4? E: Don't get upset. Detachable, of course.
