When a Porsche 917 in white livery with neat blue and red stripes won the 24 Hours of Le Mans (for the second time) in 1971, not only the brand and the drivers were the talk of the town, but also the Italian spirits and alcoholic drinks manufacturer "Martini & Rossi". Martini was primarily known for its sweet vermouth, but also produced sparkling wines and Noilly Prat. Martini & Rossi was founded in Turin in 1847 by four businessmen. It has been part of the Bacardi Group since 1992. Today, Martini sells around 200 million alcoholic drinks a year, with sales in the region of five billion American dollars a year.
