It was only built for one sports car racing season, but its history is legendary. The Ferrari 335 S and its brother 315 S were responsible for winning the 1957 sports car championship, but also for the terrible accident at the 1957 Mille Miglia, which led to the discontinuation of the traditional event. Imagine this: 390 hp from a displacement of 4.1 liters, a dry weight of just over 800 kg and tires that are about 15 cm wide at the front and not quite 18 cm wide at the rear and are designed to keep the car on the road even at speeds of over 300 km/h. Adventurous, but steeped in history! The racing sports car was called the Ferrari 335 S and was built for the 1957 sports car championship to compete against the 400 hp Maserati 450 S. According to Phil Hill, the 335 S was the best front-engined sports car Ferrari ever built. And he should really know, because he completed many kilometers behind the wheel of the Barchetta: "The car was a dream from the driver's point of view; not only did the 335 S have more power than its predecessors, its chassis was also significantly better and could excel on all types of road surfaces. Everything simply fitted together, the engine, the chassis and the handling.
