One day after the Street Parade, which saw almost a million visitors raving through Zurich, the third Older Classics of 2023 took place in the north of the city on August 13. However, there is unlikely to have been any overlap between the two visitor groups, although the proportion of younger participants at Older Classics was certainly considerable.
In sunny weather and high temperatures, several hundred classic cars of all genres and eras met at Motor World in Kemptthal.
Impressive variety
The wide range of vehicles was once again typical of the Older Classic.
Whether Heinkel Kabinenroller, Lamborghini Countach or BMW 502, there was something of everything and every visitor was likely to have discovered former dream cars or vehicles that their parents or they themselves had already driven.
One of the cars that particularly caught our eye was an early VW Golf GTI, which is still in first-hand condition and has survived the decades in great condition thanks to good care.
The Armstrong Siddeley Star Sapphire, which has become very rare today, was also impressive; some visitors probably didn't even remember the brand.
Good atmosphere
The visitors enjoyed the good weather and the various catering options. Music was also provided, from the alphorn to the band.
As on previous occasions, the old cars had to be driven in upstairs and also distributed to the parking lots away from the main stream of visitors.
The picture gallery shows the variety and some of the vehicles in over 100 pictures.
P.S. As always, it is not easy to identify all the cars correctly. If we have made a mistake with the vehicle designation or the year of manufacture, we would be pleased to receive comments and improvements.
