At the VW plant, the differences are subtle. The second Golf model year - delivered from mid-September 1975 - is only recognizable from the rear view: "Volkswagen" in the new font is now on the left of the tailgate, while Golf S or LS for the new 75 PS engine is on the right - previously it was the other way around. There were no other external changes. Why would there be? Serious features of the latest series were not necessary as a sales incentive. On the contrary, they would only have annoyed previous Golf buyers and depressed used car prices, which are already burdened by detail problems, especially in cars from the fall/winter of 1974/75.
