This new Simca station wagon is particularly appealing to those moving up from the 1100 and those switching from the 1301/1501. It should also significantly increase sales figures in Germany. The Renault 16 and the hatchback version of the VW Passat, whose engine range (55, 75, 85 hp) is exactly the same as the Simca 1307/1308, have long been direct competitors. We test the top model. After an unusually long break of eight years (since the first 1100), a new Simca finally arrived. The model designation 1307/1308 proves that it is the direct successor to the long-successful 1301. The final digits 7 and 8 stand for the French tax classes.
