Jumping over the shadow - Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow in the (historic) test
Summary
With the Silver Shadow, Rolls-Royce broke with some traditions and bowed to modernity. While its predecessor, the Silver Ghost, had been enthroned above all other normal motor cars as automotive nobility, the Silver Shadow now had to be compared with "ordinary" cars for the first time. Nevertheless, it still offered traditional luxury virtues such as comfort, smooth running and exceptional build quality - as well as an inimitable aura of nobility, as this historical test report clearly explains.

Introductory courses are held to familiarize students with the maintenance and care of Rolls-Royces and Bentleys. The duration of such a course is 2 weeks. The subject matter is the characteristics of the mechanics of these cars, with particular emphasis on lubrication and adjustment. These courses are specially designed for drivers who are driving a Rolls or Bentley for the first time. Drivers who are familiar with the older models can easily complete a shortened course, although a full course is recommended. The school has already welcomed many owners who drive their cars themselves, as well as their family members. Please contact: "The Principal, School of Instruction, Rolls-Royce Ltd, Hythe Road, Villesden, NW 10".
