Between 1969 and 1983, Peugeot built the 504 Cabriolet, equipped with four and six-cylinder engines. The elegant car designed by Pininfarina impressed with its comfort and efficiency, especially in the four-cylinder version. This driving report describes impressions of a four-cylinder convertible from the early 1980s and shows the car in many current and historical photos.

For many years, Pininfarina employees drew and designed cars for Peugeot, but their masterpiece was probably the Peugeot 504 Cabriolet (and its twin brother, the Coupé). This thesis is supported not least by the fact that the timeless convertible was built almost unchanged for fourteen years. The successor to the Peugeot 404 Cabriolet was presented to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1969. The reception was very friendly, as the Cabriolet (like the Coupé) shone with modern, flowing lines and differed more clearly than its predecessor from the parallel-built saloon.
