Summary
The Nash brand disappeared from the car market before 1957, although the company was one of the most innovative vehicle manufacturers in the USA. With the Nash Rambler, a comparatively compact everyday car was introduced in 1950, which, as a four-door model with a Pinin-Farina design, was able to convince even American skeptics from 1954. This report focuses on the four-door Nash Rambler Custom variant with Hydramatic and shows it together with its fellow models in historical and current pictures. Press documents and a sound sample are also included.

The Nash brand had already disappeared from the car market before 1957, although the company was one of the most innovative vehicle manufacturers in the USA. With the Nash Rambler, a comparatively compact everyday car was introduced in 1950, which was popular with buyers and successful in sales, especially as it was refined every year and finally even received European design influences with Pinin Farina's help. The "Rambler" could already look back on a long history of names when it was born in 1950. On March 1, 1902, Thomas B. Jeffery presented his first Rambler at the motor show in Chicago. The development history even went back to 1895, the year in which Jeffery and his son Charles began working on automobiles. The first self-built car was already on the road in 1899, but it was not until 1902 that the car was produced and sold. The company and name history of the Rambler began even earlier, as Jefferey launched his first bicycle under this name in 1879. It was a success and created the basis for the leap into the car business.
