Good improvements - the Ford 12 M (in the historical test)
Summary
The "new" 1959 Ford 12 M was not really new, but it was so much improved that journalists were able to rediscover it and were convinced by the progress made. Of course, this Ford Taunus had long proven itself as a practical and spacious everyday car and even Willi Schmitz from krafthand could hardly find a fly in the ointment. This article reproduces the original wording of the test from back then and shows the Ford 12 M and its predecessor in historical photos.
This article contains the following chapters
- The new improved shape
- The last "rare engine"
- Transmission still a choice

It is sometimes much easier to assess a completely new car design from a driving and technical point of view than a vehicle that has remained pretty much the same in its basic conception, because there is a danger that it will be undervalued. After all, human nature is such that we respond more positively to something fashionable and only on closer inspection and reflection do we come to the conclusion that the old is not so far-fetched, but in any case tried and tested. After all, not only that which is new or different at any price should be considered good. This train of thought should be sent in advance, although it may sound like an excuse, but it is by no means one.
