Nine years is a long time in the life of an automobile! I still remember my first drive in the 12 M in 1952. I had the impression of sitting in a glass box - reinforced by the fact that I had changed from the old humpbacked Taunus into the 12 M. In terms of bodywork, the 12 M was our most modern car at the time, so modern that it was fitted with a modern short-stroke engine a little later, resulting in a combination that caused a sensation for many years as the 15 M. In the meantime, the 17 M brought new values to which the 15 M fell victim. The 12 M remained in the program because Ford customers wanted it. However, the logical consequence of the 17 M would have been the 10 M, as the successful success of its English brother Ford Anglia proves, at least in theory, but in practice things look quite different. And since the voice of the people is the voice of God, I'll banish my theoretical thoughts and let the 12 M be the middle class's dream car.
