There are cars about which we know everything. Then as now, they were portrayed in many magazines, shown around at exhibitions and auctions. Again and again. Today's yellow and white Ford coupé with Ghia-Aigle bodywork from 1956 is not one of them. Little is documented to shed light on its origins and history. Today, the typical insignia of the builder are missing from its body, and even its designer cannot be named beyond doubt. What is certain, however, is that the car was created as a one-off and that it was based on a Ford mechanism. The Swiss company Ghia Aigle S.A. was founded on April 30, 1948; the connection with the Italian Ghia is no longer entirely clear. In any case, the Italians had no shares, but they sent skilled workers to western Switzerland to transfer knowledge.
