Ford 17M 1700 S Turnier - Return to the line of reason
Summary
The Ford 17M of the P7 series was built from 1967 to 1971 and sold a good 570,000 units, not enough to displace the competition from Opel. Today, well-preserved models of the P7 series are a rarity; this report shows a Ford 17M 1700S Turnier from the first year of production.

If you ask people today if they can imagine a Ford 17M Turnier from the P7 model series, built between 1967 and 1971, hardly anyone will be able to describe the car in such a way that they would recognize it in a parking lot full of cars. Many older people (50+) have probably sat in a 17M or 20M from the late sixties at some point, or knew someone who had one, or even driven one themselves, but the car was probably not memorable or individual enough for them to remember it exactly. It is fitting that the subject of this report is painted gray. The car doesn't stand out, but it doesn't displease either, as we noticed when the estate car turned out to be an obstacle to traffic. On the contrary, raised corners of the mouth and interested glances showed that we look at this car differently today than we did over 40 years ago.
