At Porsche, people like to say that around 70 percent of the cars ever built are still on the road, and at Ferrari the figure is probably even higher. Of the many thousands of Fiat 132s of the first series with 1600 and 1800 engines that were once registered on the roads, however, hardly more than one per thousand are still on the roads here with a license plate. The Fiat 132 was presented in April 1972 as the successor to the Fiat 125, which had been built for five years and whose body was in turn derived from the Fiat 124. However, the Fiat 132 was a completely new design, although the drivetrain was carried over from its predecessor in an improved form.
