This is how a 100-year anniversary can be opened: For this year's Mille Miglia, Zagato has designed a watch for Chopard, strictly limited to 100 pieces. The famous design manufacturer from Rho near Milan is otherwise better known for its car designs.

Classics such as the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750, Fiat 8V Zagato, Aston Martin DB 4 Zagato, the SZ and TZ series for Alfa Romeo and countless other designs for Fiat, Lancia, Abarth, Jaguar and Bristol have come together over the decades. No one shaped the Zagato design of the sixties as impressively as Ercole Spada.
Four-day celebration
The Zagato Car Club celebrated the anniversary year with a four-day event, with the number of participants limited to 100 cars. Zagato owners from all over the world made their way to Rho, with the longest journey probably made by a pair of brothers from Australia, who left their Lancia Flavia Zagato and Lancia Fulvio Zagato "down-under".

The two oldest cars were a pre-war OM and pre-war Alfa Romeo 6C 1750. Then there were two special models, probably a viewing first for many: a Bristol and a Fiat Aster.

Many highlights
One highlight followed another in the four-day anniversary Raduno: The Alfa Romeo collection of the Cozzi brothers was visited, then of course the Zagato atelier in Rho, which is still active today, a few laps could be made on the small test track of Pirelli Vizzola Ticino, and a visit to the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese also formed part of the program.

Andrea Zagato, who runs the company in the third generation together with his wife Marella, paid his respects. An interesting fact: Andrea is married to Marella Rivolta, the granddaughter of Renzo Rivolta, the founder of Iso Rivolta.
Magnificent line-up
The worthy conclusion of the "Zagato nel Centenario" was celebrated on Sunday lunchtime at Villa Scheibler in Rho. The participants were able to line up their Zagato models on the gravel path forming a square in the magnificent estate. The tire tracks were immediately neutralized by the staff with large rakes...

The scene was framed by a great stand of trees - flanked in the background by the venerable old villa.
