At the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, idyllically situated on Lake Tegernsee, not only will the five stars at the entrance to the hotel shine from September 11 to 13, but also the most beautiful treasures from the great eras of automotive history.
The Concours d'Élégance Tegernsee is a beauty contest for historic automobiles competing for the favor of the jury and the public. At this official FIVA-A event, the most beautiful vehicles of their kind can be seen and admired - with a view of the lake and the mountains, against which the historic cars stand out in stark contrast. The classic automobiles are art objects, cultural assets and vehicles at the same time and convey the lifestyle of an era in which automobiles were more than just a means of transportation.
This is where pleasure-loving people meet rare vehicles: for lovers of classic cars and Neo Classics® vehicles, this event is a highlight in the diary. The Concours d'Élégance Tegernsee is one of the few globally recognized FIVA-A-Concours and looks back on a long-standing tradition, the origins of which lie in the Ludwigsburg Residential Palace.
Classics and neoclassics
Admission to the Concours d'Élégance Tegernsee is by application only and after final approval by the selection committee. The number of participants is limited to a total of around 40 vehicles of all makes and types, which will compete in two divisions:
- Division 1: Historic vehicles built / rebuilt between 1886 and 1970
- Division 2: Neo Classics® - modern classics built between 2000 and 2020
The vehicles will be selected on site according to historical, technical and aesthetic aspects, their safety, authenticity, elegance and the sophistication of their design and will be judged by an independent international jury of experts. An official FIVA steward will accompany the event and the evaluation of the vehicles. On Friday, the Bavarian evening will provide a hearty prelude to the special weekend - an ideal opportunity for an informal exchange with like-minded people while talking shop.
Saturday ends after the "Seeblick" drive with lunch and the judging of the vehicles with a gala evening as a social and culinary highlight.
On Sunday, after a hearty Bavarian veal sausage breakfast, the focus will once again be on exceptional automobiles: this will be followed by the awards ceremony and the presentation of the awards in the individual vehicle classes. The Concours d'Élégance Tegernsee 2020 will conclude with the "Best of Show" award in each category.
