The Museo Enzo Ferrari celebrates the anniversary with a photo exhibition.
Enzo Anselmo Ferrari was born on February 18, 1898, the son of Alfredo and Adalgisa. Even as a child, he showed an unbridled passion for engines (his father had a workshop, after all...) and became not only a great car manufacturer, but also one of the world's most important representatives of "Made in Italy" and one of the most influential personalities of the 20th century.
To celebrate the 120th anniversary of his birth, his birthplace in Modena, where the Museo Enzo Ferrari now stands, is hosting an exhibition of photographs from various stages of his life: from childhood to adulthood, from his career as a racing driver to manager and constructor alongside unforgettable champions of motor racing such as Nuvolari, Castellotti and Villeneuve.
"It's hard to believe that Enzo Ferrari was born in the 19th century," says President and CEO Sergio Marchionne. "His ideas are more relevant than ever and his approaches are unquestionable. He was a man of extraordinary vision and leadership in terms of people and resources, as well as a strong entrepreneurial spirit and exceptional courage. The question arises as to what he could have achieved with the technical means and knowledge of today. The mark he has left on the world fills everyone at Ferrari with pride and is a figurehead for the whole of Italy."
Further information on the exhibition can be found on the official website of the Museo Enzo Ferrari.
