The Südsteiermark-Classic is taking place for the 20th time, where the ambition of the drivers and navigators is just as important as experiencing the picturesque back roads past vineyards and meadows. This time, the rally is scheduled for April 23-25, 2020.
Exceptionally large number of vehicles expected
The organizers guarantee every vehicle built before 1950 a fixed starting place, so this year's rally is once again expected to inspire an exceptionally large number of vehicles over 70 years old. Target times and average speeds are based on the year of manufacture of the vehicles, but don't worry, they are still set at a sporty enough level to ensure that neither driving nor navigating will be boring.
The winners (epoch and overall) are determined by various tests. In particular, these are the uniformity test and special tests. GPS measurements as well as hose and light barrier measurements ensure fair and uniform test results.
Not just a rally - a "pleasure rally"!
It is not for nothing that the Südsteiermark-Classic has the nickname "pleasure rally". It is accompanied by culinary delicacies: Wine from the best winegrowers in the region, Vulkano ham, as well as many other delicacies from southern Styria. This means that participants will also get their money's worth away from the rally and can experience Southern Styria not only with their eyes but also with their palate.
The Steiermark-Classic shows once again that enjoyment and sportiness are not contradictory. On the contrary!
