The third edition of the Saalbach Classic will take place from August 19 to 23, 2015. The village of Hinterglemm is the start and finish point for the 80 or so classic cars. Over the three days of the rally, more than 630 kilometers of beautiful Alpine roads are on the agenda.
Bugatti, Bentley, Lagonda, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes, BMW, Invicta, Riley, but also Porsche, Ferrari, Jaguar, Veritas, Austin Healey, Fiat, Maserati - the special sound of historic exhaust systems and the smell of their carburetors takes us back to a time when driving was still an incomparable adventure.
Continued work on legend status
After its premiere in 2013, the Saalbach Classic received much praise and applause. This is a clear mandate for the team, for whom quality and hospitality are paramount. The Saalbach Classic offers participants a sporting challenge on roads with little traffic in a magnificent setting.
Places such as the three-thousand-metre peaks of the Glockner Group, the Hohe Trauern National Park, the Hochkönig or the Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski paradise in midsummer make classic car driving an unforgettable experience.
Rally legend Walter Röhrl as host
The dream cars of our parents and grandparents in the middle of the Austrian Alps and the host is once again the man whose sporting CV is forever linked to the well-groomed, loud accelerator pedal - Walter Röhrl!
Interesting program
After the prologue on Thursday and the welcome evening at the Wallegg-Alm, two spectacular days full of adrenaline, sporting challenge and warm hospitality are on the program with the Glockner-Runde (360km) and the Bayern-Runde (250km).
The route was only changed and optimized in details for 2015. After crossing the Grossglockner on Friday, the route continues north from Heiligenblut via Oberdrauburg and the Drau Valley and branches off to the right before the Katschberg. For lunch, participants can expect a spectacular alpine panorama high above Innerkrems. The Saalbach-Classic leads towards Bundschuh and through the wild and romantic Thomatal valley to Obertauern, Wagrain, Lend and Dienten. On Saturday we head towards Bavaria / Bad Reichenhall with the opportunity to take part in the popular and spectacular voluntary drift tests at the ÖAMTC at Brandlhof.
