Ferrari wrote an important part of the history of the automotive industry. The brand with the rearing horse as its emblem makes young and old revel. At the next Retromobile, Ferrari's 70th birthday will be celebrated with a special exhibition.
Ferrari at the Retromobile Paris
Eight exceptional vehicles will be exhibited at the Retromobile to honor the history and work of Ferrari. Especially when it comes to racing cars, Ferrari as a manufacturer has become an authority in the automotive industry. In many respects, Ferrari is considered a pioneer of automotive design and engineering.
Ferrari 166 Mille Miglia
The sports car with the Touring body won the first 24 Hours of Le Mans after the Second World War, Luigi Chinetti drove the 166 Mille Miglia for over 22 hours.
The red racing car thus started a succession of victories for Ferrari at Le Mans.
Ferrari 500 F2
The one-seater is the most decorated car in Ferrari's history. It won 11 Grand Prix races with Alberto Askari at the wheel. The 500 F2 was absolutely superior and won 14 out of 15 races.
The car is a wonderful example of Enzo Ferrari's strategic and innovative thinking.
Ferrari 250 LM
The Ferrari 250 LM was the first mid-engined racing car to be offered to the public.
It is a milestone in the development of Ferrari's sports cars and the Ferrari 250 Test Rossa from 1958 is also based on this body.
250 GT Cabriolet "Série 1"
The extremely elegant 250 GT Cabriolet is one of a limited series of which only 37 were built.
The design was created by Pinin Farina as part of the collaboration that began in 1951.
250 GT Berlinetta
The classic 250 GT Berlinetta was another of Ferrari's masterpieces.
The SWB was built by the Italian coachbuilder Scaglietti and was produced in an aluminum and a steel version.
275 GTB
The 275 GTB is one of the last Maranello GTs with a front-mounted engine. The Berlinetta, which replaced the 250 GTB in 1964, was given an elegant design by Pininfarina.
Due to demand, the first 275 GTB sold was not in the classic red but in dark green.
These and other Ferrari models will be on display at the Retromobile 2017.
