On the occasion of the 15th Grand Prix de Monaco Historique from April 24 to 26, 2026, RM Sotheby's is also preparing an auction on April 25, 2026 with 59 vehicles at the Grimaldi Forum.
The total value of the vehicles is over EUR 97 million, so an impressive average of EUR 1.64 million is expected per car/scooter/ship/film prop.
27% of the vehicle lots will be offered without a reserve price, plus a good dozen non-vehicle lots.
Automobilia and a movie "car"
Anyone who wants to own Juan Manuel Fangio's trousers or passport or is looking for a Bugatti suitcase set in blue crocodile leather will find what they are looking for in Monaco, as will those who are after Ferrari tool sets or a Ferrari Formula 1 engine.
However, the Lotus Esprit S1, which was seen as a submarine in the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me", is really exciting. Whether and to what extent the exhibit really appeared in the movie is not entirely clear, but now the shell is offered without drive and interior on a "slightly movable console".
With an estimate of EUR 200,000 to 300,000, the underwater sports car is said to cost more than a perfectly restored Lotus Esprit S1. Nevertheless, it is offered without a reserve price.
Special Formula 1 cars
Five Formula 1 monoposti are going under the hammer at RM Sotheby's in Monaco. The spectrum ranges from the Jordan EJ13 show car from 2003 and the Fittipaldi F6/A from 1979 to two Ferraris and a Toleman.
The latter is particularly interesting, as this TG183B from 1984 was the car with which Ayrton Senna began his F1 career. EUR 2.8 to 3.8 million is to be invested here.
The Ferrari 642 from 1991 and the Ferrari 312 T3 from 1978, which was mainly driven by Carlos Reutemann and Gilles Villeneuve, are in even higher price ranges.
Young super sports cars
There will be no shortage of young and very fast sports cars in Monaco; after all, the average age of the cars on offer is rather low at 34 years.
One of only nine Ferrari Enzos painted in "Argento Nürburgring" from 2004 is likely to attract the most attention. With 19,079 km on the clock, it is one of the more heavily used examples, but this could actually be more of an advantage than a disadvantage. The estimated EUR 4.9 to 5.3 million is likely to be easily exceeded if you look at the recent Enzo results around the world.
The Enzo is accompanied by other young super sports cars such as a La Ferrari, a Porsche Carrera GT, two Lamborghini, an AMG One and a Bugatti EB110 and Bolide.
Italian, British and German super classics
The selection of super classics in Monaco is also extensive. At the top of the list is certainly the auction's flagship, a Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider from 1961.
Chassis 2955 GT is one of 39 cars with headlight covers and was on display at the IAA in Frankfurt in 1961. It is now expected to sell for EUR 14.5 to 16.5 million.
The various other Ferrari 12-cylinder classics, including two 275 GTBs, a 250 TG Cabriolet Series II from 1961, a 330 GTS from 1967, a Daytona from 1972 and an early 365 GT4 BB from 1974, are likely to be cheaper.
Lamborghini is offering a very early 350 GT from 1964 with touring coupé bodywork, which is expected to fetch EUR 400,00 to 500,000.
Aston Martin is represented with two DB4s and Mercedes-Benz with one 300 SL Gullwing and one Roadster.
Porsche has a 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring from 1973 for sale for EUR 450,000 to 550,000.
Some rarities
There will also be no shortage of very rare and unusual vehicles at RM in the Grimaldi Forum.
One example is the WD Denzel 1300 from 1954, one of around 65 examples built, which is now worth EUR 150,000 to 180,000. An Alpine-Renault A110 1300 G from 1970 should find its way into a new garage a little more cheaply.
The Bugatti EB 112 was only built three times. The last example from 1999 has covered just 388 km to date and is therefore treated like a new car in terms of taxation. The front-engined V12 all-wheel-drive four-door is expected to find a new owner for EUR 1.5 to 2 million.
The Aston Martin DB3S from 1955, one of 20 built, is expected to be even more expensive. It is expected to cost EUR 3 to 4 million.
The consignors are hoping for a similar amount of money in exchange for a 1957 Porsche 550A Spyder with a US racing history.
And then there is the 1964 Lotus Type 30 with Ford V8 engine, which appeared at the Bahamas Speed Week in 1964 and is now looking for a new owner for EUR 200,000 to 300,000.
The selection in Monaco is large and also includes the almost obligatory Fiat 500 Jolly, albeit as a "conversion", and a BMW M3 GT from 1995. A Riva boat and a Vespa with the Ferrari logo are also up for grabs. Further information and many pictures of the individual vehicles can be found on the RM Sotheby's website.
