From Friday February 20 to Sunday February 22, 2015, the Race Retro exhibition will take place in Coventry in the middle of England. With countless exhibition stands with everything you need for the next classic car season, an auction from Silverstone, prominent guests from motorsport, motorcycle clubs and much more, the upcoming Race Retro is set to get the season off to a great start.
Silverstone Auctions
Silverstone Auctions will also be present at the three-day Race Retro 2015, auctioning off automobilia as well as historic racing cars and competition vehicles and motorcycles. The vehicles will be on display for viewing on Friday and Saturday morning and the auction of automobilia will begin on Sunday lunchtime.
Registrations for auction items are welcome - more information on their website. Auction catalogs can be purchased online, which will allow you to participate in the auction.
Live Rally Stage
Not far from the exhibition halls, there will be an extra area where Group B rally cars will let off steam, much to the delight of the spectators. Over 50 vehicles will be at the start to compete against each other. Each race starts with a demo drive of historic go-karts, which always generates a lot of enthusiasm among the spectators. On Saturday, the races will take place from 11:15 to 12:45 and on Sunday from 14:15 to 15:45.
Many other highlights
An exciting program item for motorcycle fans is the so-called"Fire Up Paddock", where historic motorcycles come to life and delight the ears of spectators with unforgettable engine sounds.
The"Pride of Ownership" competition will also be something for motorcycle enthusiasts; owners can present their two-wheeled pride and joy there and, with a bit of luck, even win the "Best in Show" prize.
Another highlight at Race Retro 2015 is the round table in Hall 3, where well-known personalities from the world of racing and rallying will be telling stories from their lives, answering questions from the public and signing autographs.
Various motorsport clubs will once again enrich Race Retro with fantastic exhibits.
Brands at the Race Retro
Every year, Race Retro selects three brands - one from motor racing, one from rallying and one from motorcycling - to be celebrated at the show.
In 2015 it will be Chevron Racing and their 50th anniversary in the racing section and in the rally section Richard Burns, England's one-time world rally champion who died 10 years ago, will be honored. Mike Hailwood won the 500cc Motorcycle World Championship 50 years ago and will be recognized in the Motorcycling category at Race Retro 2015.
