On June 25 and 26, the longest and toughest historic rally in the world will stop in Gröbming and Schladming - the only stop in Austria!
The "5th Peking to Paris Motor Challenge" lasts 33 days and covers 12,250 km!
The start was on May 25th in Beijing, the route leads from China through Mongolia, Russia, Ukraine to Paris.
96 vehicles - including some Ennstal-Classic participants - are taking on the challenge, which has been taking place for the fifth time since 1907.
Starting number 1 - an American La France Tourer with 14500 cc is also starting number 1 at the Ennstal-Classic.
Two "Ennstal" special stages
From 15.30 hrs on 25. June via the Sölkpass (with a stop at the Erzherzog Johann Hütte) - Stein an der Enns - Mitterberg - Gröbming - Wiesackstraße via the northern bypass to a special stage on the Stoderzinken.
The Stoderzinken road is only closed during the ascent from 15:00 - 17:30. Afterwards, between 17.45 - 19.15, the hard-tested vehicles will continue on the Stoderstraße through the main road Gröbming - Stirling Moss traffic circle in the direction of Schladming. The well-deserved stop after the hard nights in Mongolia will be at the Sporthotel Royer. The participants are expected here from 6 pm.
Early in the morning the next day at 07:00 to 07:50 - without breakfast - the next stage "Planai Mountain Test" will start. The approach is via Congress Schladming - Landmarkt traffic circle - police traffic circle - Planet Planai - Planaistraße slip road via Jett petrol station. From 7.12 - 8.12 a.m. start special stage at the Kessleralm.
This is followed by a breakfast break at the Schafalm, where participants can enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Enns Valley! Afterwards, the start of the descent from the Planai takes place on an open road.
The ride then continues through Schladming and Rohrmoos. It is sure to be an impressive event.
