It doesn't happen every day! Four generations of Opel Rekord are going under the hammer at a single auction. In addition to the Olympia Rekord from 1956, the very rare (and Swiss specialty) Rekord (P1) Ascona from 1959 and the Rekord P2 1700 from 1962, an Opel Rekord C 1900 from 1971 will also be auctioned.
And then there are three other rare Opels, namely a Kapitän P 2.6 L from 1961 (the "P" stands for the panoramic windshield), a Kadett from 1965 (in red!) and a Speedster Turbo from 2004, the Opel version of the Lotus Elise with the 2.2-liter turbo engine. Opel fans should not miss this.
Many attractive vehicles registered
In addition to the seven Opel vehicles, there is also a whole range of other rarities that could certainly cause sleepless nights for some of those interested.
To name a few examples:
- Alfa Romeo 1900 C SS Ghia-Aigle from 1957 - one of five Alfas with special bodywork designed by Michelotti
- Audi 72 from 1965 - the first post-war Audi ever
- Bristol Blenheim 3 from 1997 - a steam hammer in luxury GT clothing
- Facel Vega FV 3 from 1957 - France's answer to Aston Martin, Maserati and Ferrari
- Lancia Appia Cabriolet Vignale from 1960 - elegant two-seater in the style of the Fiat Spider
- Lancia Flaminia 3B Coupé Pininfarina from 1963 - as driven by Marcello Mastoianni in the Fellini film Otto e Mezzo
- Lotus Elan SE Turbo from 1992 - Colin Chapman's front-wheel drive convertible
- Mercedes-Benz 130 from 1934 - the rear-engined Mercedes all in black
- Morgan F2 Super Sports from 1934 - the three-wheeler that gives some four-wheelers a run for their money
- Porsche 911 SC 3.0 Cabriolet from 1983 - one of the first Porsche convertibles based on the 911
A second look is certainly worthwhile, the definitive list of cars on offer will be published in about two weeks.
