25th vintage car fundraising campaign by Lebenshilfe Gießen: Win a Mercedes 180 c from Günther Jauch
Lebenshilfe Gießen e.V. 's 25th vintage car fundraising campaign has its own stand in the Galeria. It supports, promotes and cares for people with mental, psychological and multiple disabilities and operates 39 facilities in the district of Giessen: Kindergartens, workshops, residential homes and numerous projects in which over 2000 people with disabilities are supported and cared for.
The last Lebenshilfe fundraising campaign in 2018 brought in record proceeds: 1.25 million euros. This is now set to be topped with the current campaign, which runs until January 20, 2020. The conditions for a new best result are good: nine attractive classic vehicles, which have been donated, beckon as prizes. Anyone wishing to take part and be in with a chance of winning one of the prizes must make a donation of at least five euros to the donation account.
Two of the winning vehicles can be admired at Techno-Classica: the elegant dark blue Mercedes-Benz 180 c "Ponton" from 1961. TV icon Günther Jauch donated the vehicle, which was restored by Ponton-Manufaktur Thomas Hanna in Munich, to the campaign. Visitors can also personally inspect the racy red Mini Innocenti 1300 Cooper, which is also one of the raffle vehicles.
30th classic car fundraising campaign by "Oldtimer-Markt" magazine Special charity campaign at the trade fair stand at Techno-Classica Essen
Readers of the magazine "Oldtimer-Markt" have donated almost eight million euros to the children's cancer charity since 1990. The 30th fundraising campaign, which will end at the beginning of 2020 with the drawing of the winners, is now underway. Donations are already being made, although the vehicle prizes have not yet been published.
"There will be particularly attractive prizes for the anniversary, including some real rarities," reveals editor-in-chief Peter Steinfurth. We have once again included several classic cars and motorcycles donated by readers of our magazine. With the '30' in front, our campaign is now a real classic car itself." "Oldtimer-Markt" uses the donations to support research projects in pediatric cancer medicine at the University Medical Centers of the Universities of Giessen and Mainz. The winners will be drawn from all depositors after the closing date. The fundraising campaign will also be on display at the Classic Car Market stand in Hall 1 at the 2019 Techno-Classica World Classic Car Fair, where further information and prepared transfer forms will be available. Illustrator Lothar Krebs draws visitor portraits - for a donation of 20 euros in the donation box.
KinderHerz Foundation auctions off passenger seats: At the side of prominent drivers at classic car rallies
TV car expert Sidney Hoffmann is competing for the Children's Heart Foundation at the 3rd International ADAC ZURICH Westfalen Classic. The co-driver's seat in his Porsche 964 C2 (built in 1991) will be auctioned off in the run-up to the classic car rally. The highest bid will benefit children with congenital heart defects. The KinderHerz foundation is the charity partner of Sidney Hoffmann - known from the TV show "Die PS-Profis" - for the first time. Sidney will take part in the four-day rally (September 5 to 8, 2019) in his Porsche 964 for two days in the Sauerland region and draw attention to the needs of children with heart disease. Visitors to Techno-Classica Essen 2019 will be able to take a look at Sidney Hoffmann's Porsche at the ADAC stand in Hall 3.
Every day in Germany, around 19 babies are born with a heart defect. One in 100 children has to start life with a diseased heart. The Children's Heart Foundation is therefore committed to ensuring that such natural defects are repaired in the best possible way by promoting innovative research projects in pediatric heart medicine.
Prominent drivers have been taking part in classic car rallies for the Children's Heart Foundation for many years. These include the ADAC Bavaria Historic, the Hamburg-Berlin Classic and the ADAC Hansa Sunflower Rally. The foundation regularly raises valuable donations for children's heart research through auctions and raffles for rides alongside celebrities and racing stars.
At Münster University Hospital, for example, the foundation supports the "activity tracker" project. It helps to sustainably improve the physical performance of children with a heart defect. The mortality rate has been significantly reduced thanks to the improved possibilities of pediatric heart medicine. Sylvia Paul, CEO of the Children's Heart Foundation, and her team are committed to a good life for children with heart disease: "We want to ensure that children with congenital heart defects can grow up carefree and realize their dreams - in an everyday life without fears and worries," emphasizes Sylvia Paul. Many milestones have already been achieved together with partners from the world of motorsport.
The "Grand Prix Caracciola" is a partner of the German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation
The Scuderia Rudolf Caracciola association is organizing the "Grand Prix Caracciola" for the 5th time this year. From 12 to 14 September 2019, the region around Bamberg and Bayreuth will host the rally in honor of the greatest and most successful Mercedes racing driver of the pre-war era, Rudolf Caracciola. Once again, the organizers are cooperating with the German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation under the motto "Driving classic cars against leukemia" and collecting donations for the foundation of the world-famous tenor. The rally participants have to pay one cent for every penalty point they score on the 50 or so special stages. And most of them round up the amount, so that in the end a considerable sum is raised.
Carreras himself was diagnosed with leukemia in 1987. He set up the foundation out of gratitude for overcoming the disease.
Since then, more than 1,200 projects have been financed with the aim of building research and treatment facilities, research into leukemia and its cure, as well as the work of self-help groups and parent initiatives. - Caracciola dominated the entire racing scene worldwide from 1926 to 1939 and became European champion three times during this time, which is equivalent to being Formula 1 world champion today.
He won 144 of over 200 races, most of them in the legendary Silver Arrows from Mercedes-Benz. Anyone wishing to take part in the "Grand Prix Caracciola" can also register at the Techno-Classica Essen classic car world fair: in the Galeria at the joint stand GA 301 of Scuderia Caracciola and the painter Yuriy Shevchuk, who designed the poster for the Grand Prix. Information and competition documents are also available there.
