The 9th OCC Coastal Trophy will be held in the Baltic seaside resort of Travemünde from June 14 to 17, 2018. This year's classic car rally will see 120 teams compete with their historic classics to discover the most beautiful regions of the North German Baltic Sea coast.
The rally starts and finishes in Travemünde. Interested residents and tourists are cordially invited to drop by. This is particularly suitable before the start of the stage in the morning and at the finish in the afternoon.
"We are overwhelmed by the popularity of the OCC Coast Trophy. We have been fully booked since the beginning of the year and the waiting list continues to fill up," says Carsten Möller, Managing Director of OCC and organizer of the rally. "We are really looking forward to this year's participants - because it is the participants who make our event what it is. And wait until you see all the oldies parked in the Brügmanngarten!".
Former European Rally Champion (1996) Armin Schwarz is in charge of the sporting organization of the classic car rally for the third time in 2018. The OCC-Küstentrophy has made a name for itself as a friendly and high-quality event that is equally suitable for beginners and sporty drivers. In addition to the professionally prepared route of the rally, particular emphasis is placed on sociability and culinary delights.
For the rally drivers and their navigators, there are two rally days to explore: the "Baltic Sea Tour" and the "Between Castles and Lakes" route. On Friday, the journey begins through the coastal towns of Sierksdorf, Neustadt i.H., Grömitz, Dahme and Weissenhäuser Strand. After a lunch break in Hohwacht, the tour returns to Travemünde via Lütjenburg, Eutin, Süsel and Ratekau. The finish will begin at 16:20 on the beach promenade (Brügmanngarten).
Saturday starts at 9 a.m. in the direction of the Priwall ferry, where the search for castles and lakes can begin. Via Dorf Mecklenburg and Dobin am See, the route heads to Schwerin Castle for a lunch break. Past the Schaalsee lake, a coffee break awaits in the cattle house of the Segrahn estate until the route finally ends in Travemünde via Mölln, Krummesse and Lübeck.
On the driving days on Friday and Saturday, the 240 rally drivers and navigators will explore around 400 kilometers of the Baltic Sea coast and the area around Travemünde. (A detailed route description can be found on the maps).
