Something is happening in the classic car scene. Max Zedi and a team of sworn supporters want to organize a new classic car meeting on the Albisgüetli in Zurich, known to many as the place where they fulfilled their obligatory shooting duties or had their old car inspected by the experts from the motor vehicle inspection.
The spacious grounds around the Schützenhaus enable an informal gathering of 400 or more classic vehicles.
Five event dates are planned:
- May 28, 2017
- July 2, 2017
- July 30, 2017
- August 27, 2017
- September 24, 2017
From around 09:30 (and until 17:00) on these Sundays, cars and motorcycles will be admitted if they are at least 20 years old. A contribution towards expenses of CHF 5.00 is expected; this fee will be waived for pre-war vehicles.
Live music and specially organized catering (sausage stand, Cüplibar, etc.) will ensure the well-being of the participants. Similar to the Oldtimer Sunday Morning Meeting in Zug or the Dolder Classics, the focus will be on good conversation and the joy of old rolling metal.
Max Zedi does not want to compete with existing events, but rather complement them: "There are so many old cars in the Zurich area that we, who enjoy classic cars so much, simply want to offer an additional opportunity to meet and exchange ideas."
Clubs and special vehicles are expected to be presented as special highlights; the detailed program is still in preparation.
Further information can be found on the meeting website.
