The anniversary edition of the BCCM St. Moritz in July 2018 is still fondly remembered. At the gala dinner at Suvretta House, long-time president Vic Jacob handed over his position to Suvretta House director Peter Egli.
The newly composed organizing committee began work on the 26th edition immediately after the anniversary event in order to lead the meeting into a new era after a successful quarter of a century. This includes opening up the BCCM to all British car manufacturers.
Previously, the event was primarily reserved for the Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin and Austin-Healey brands. At the same time, the organizing committee has introduced a new vintage restriction. This means that British vehicles built up to 1980 will be permitted at the next BCCM St. Moritz. For 2019, historic Alvis, Lotus, Jensen and Bristol cars will also be admitted, to name just a few examples.
In a "Youngtimer Class", newer cars that enrich the field due to their special features can also take part in the meeting by invitation. This means that a Lotus Elise, a McLaren F1 or a TVR Griffith would also be welcome at the event.
Rally and Concours d'Elégance
With the exception of these changes, the BCCM will continue last year's anniversary event. The traditional rally is scheduled for Saturday, July 6. In 2019, this "Stelvio Rally" will lead from St. Moritz over the Ofen, Umbrail and Stelvio passes to Bormio in Italy. It will then return to the Engadin via Livigno and the Bernina Pass. This makes for an attractive route with 200 kilometers and five passes for the participants.
As a meeting highlight, the Concours d'Elégance in the village center of St. Moritz awaits many visitors on Sunday, July 7. All vehicles participating in the BCCM will be on display in the St. Moritz pedestrian zone from 10.30 am to 2 pm.
