Something is happening in the world of classic car fairs. After Berlin (2015) and Nuremberg (2016), Hamburg (2017) is now to have its own classic car fair.
The Hamburg Motor Classics classic car fair will delight Hamburg residents and visitors to the Elbe metropolis for the first time from October 13 to 15, 2017. "I think that we will appeal to and inspire many people with our new classic car fair. These are very tangible topics with a high emotional appeal," says Bernd Aufderheide, CEO of HMC.

The starting position for the Hamburg Motor Classics could hardly be better: Hamburg has the second-highest number of classic and vintage cars of all German cities and demand for classic cars is booming. In addition, the positive feedback from potential exhibitors and an obvious gap in the market in Hamburg were decisive factors in the decision to launch the classic car fair. "Hamburg, with its numerous classic car collectors and dealers as well as its modern and centrally located exhibition grounds, is the ideal location for such a high-quality and fascinating trade fair," says Aufderheide.
The Hamburg Motor Classics is aimed at admirers, enthusiasts and all those interested in buying classic cars. Renowned dealers, restorers and other specialists for historic automobile rarities are expected to attend the first event with a wide range of products on the subject of classic cars. There will be high-quality classic cars, modern classics, classic motorcycles, parts and accessories to buy and admire. Experts as well as financing and insurance specialists will be available for consultations. Accessories, literature, art and retro toys will also be on display.
Anyone who wants to can arrive with their own classic car, present it on a section of the exhibition grounds made available for this purpose and thus actively participate in the exhibition. A varied supporting program with selected exhibits and rarities as well as information forums complement the Hamburg Motor Classics.
The new trade fair is already receiving broad support from the industry. Numerous potential exhibitors, including the Hamburg-based company Thiesen, one of the most renowned dealers in Europe, have already signaled a strong interest in participating in the trade fair. Leseberg Automobile, northern Germany's leading dealer and service partner for classic Mercedes-Benz vintage and modern classic cars, has also confirmed its support. Other partners include the well-known Prototyp Hamburg car museum, which has rare sports and racing cars from 70 years of automotive history in its collection, and the company Home of Classics, which offers full-service accommodation for collector's items.
"It's great to see the positive momentum that Hamburg Motor Classics is already generating. We are looking forward to starting this special and first-class event next year," says Bernd Aufderheide.
