For three days in early summer, the roads in and around Kitzbühel belong to the classics of automotive history. The 27th Alpenrallye is calling. That means: 590 kilometers on the most beautiful mountain roads in the Alps at one of the most popular classic car events in Europe. The date: May 28 to 31, 2014.
Celebrities in a dream setting
The dream backdrop of the Tyrolean mountains and the unique flair of the Hahnenkamm town make the Alpenrallye a very special classic car rally and, as always, a meeting point for many prominent participants from racing, show business, business and sport.
and sport.
In 2014, TV celebrity chef Johann Lafer will tackle the Alpenrallye for the first time, while actors Herbert Knaup and Heikko Deutschmann and TV presenter Tamara Gräfin von Nayhauss will also be among the starters.
Tighter and even more attractive program
Many things are new at the Kitzbühel Alpine Rally 2014: a tighter program with a 30-second start for all stages, more stages, new competitions and a higher age limit.
This will make the Alpenrallye even more spectator-friendly and attractive for participants. Another new feature is the finish in the center of Kitzbühel at the end of the rally, where thousands of spectators are once again expected.
The routes of the 2014 Alpenrallye are also new, with the drive up the Grossglockner High Alpine Road to the Fuscher Törl at over 2,400 meters above sea level on Friday being one of the highlights of the 27th Alpenrallye.
The Saturday stage this time leads to the outer Zillertal and through the medieval old town of Rattenberg.
190 classic cars expected
You can take part in the rally with a vehicle built up to 1985, and cars built up to 1989 will also be permitted on an exceptional basis for vehicles of particular historical interest.
The rally starts on 28 May 2014 with the vehicle inspection, followed by the "Kaiser Runde" prologue on 29 May and the "Großglockner-Runde" on 30 May. Finally, on Saturday, May 31, it's off to the "Zillertal-Runde" and the finish in the city center.
You can register via the Kitzbüheler Alpenrallye website. The closing date for entries is April 4, 2014.
