Two major event anniversaries will be celebrated in 2022. Firstly, the Ennstal Classic will celebrate its 30th edition in style and secondly, 100 years will have passed since the first Klausen Race in 1922.
Unfortunately, the great Klausen race in the form of 2006 can no longer take place, but nevertheless an organizing committee has been formed with the "Diavolo Motor Classic" (DMC) association, which will commemorate the legendary Klausen mountain race with a memorial on 6 August 2022.
Exhibition with show rides
However, the core of the event is not a race, but a national classic car exhibition on the Urnerboden, where a limited number of cars and motorcycles are offered the opportunity to take part in a show drive on a closed road from the village of Urnerboden up to the finish house on the Klausen Pass.
These climbs of around 13 kilometers are tackled in various vehicle age categories. The public will thus be treated to an impressive live presentation of racing cars from the past, as well as an attractive journey through automobile and motorcycle history in a 3-D concept, something for the eyes, ears and nose.
Around 1000 classic cars (cars and motorcycles) registered for road use up to 1980 are expected.
One-day event
From 10:00 a.m. on August 6, 2022, the vehicles can be admired on the Urnerboden and the show rides will begin.
You can arrive from either side, whether from Altdorf (note that the route will be closed from 10:00) or Linthal.
The bus and shuttle service will bring fans from the cantons of Uri and Glarus to the Urnerboden with increased capacity.
Costs: The event is free of charge for spectators, with the exception of transportation to and from the event.
Parking fee: Those arriving by private car or classic car pay CHF 30 per car (classic cars with registration), motorcycles pay CHF 10. Early arrival is recommended, as parking on the Urnerboden is limited.
Those wishing to take part in the show ride pay Fr. 180.-- (motorcycles Fr. 150.--)
Advance sales for the limited number of places have already begun online on the Diavolo Motor Classic Association website.

Unfortunately, events of this kind are becoming increasingly difficult to organize and require extreme commitment from everyone involved. Therefore, it would of course be incredibly great to be able to welcome a large presence on the Urnerboden on August 6, 2022, to send a clear signal to the authorities and those responsible that we are longing for a new edition of the legendary Klausen Race.
